A Love Like Theirs

"I love your verses with all my heart, dear Miss Barrett"

With that letter that he wrote,
That was how he made his presence known to her;
So smitten was he of her poetry and her poetic success,
He likens her artistry as: "fresh strange music, the affluent language, the exquisite pathos and true new brave thought"

He loved her for a long wjhile,
Just admiring her writing from a far,
How romantic is the courtship of these famous poetic names.

Robert and Elizabeth overcome aplenty,
To be eacvh other's true love and be together happily,
Blessed with a boy they nicknamed 'Penini'
They lived as lovingly as could two people be;

Until Elizabeth died,
The semi-invalid poet whose health was never promising,
Left her young husband and child,
To live out her fame and fortune;

Heartache for the two remaining,
All they wanted more than anything,
Was for the Lady Browning to be theirs eternally.
